ACS Teams Up with MEAC to Fight Cancer
Serving as an MD and radiation oncologist with Premier Cancer Centers in Dallas, TX, Dr. Rajiv “Raj” Dahiya uses the latest technologies to treat his patients. Throughout his career treating individuals with cancer, Dr. Raj Dahiya has maintained membership in the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) has announced a joint effort with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) that will see the organizations pool their resources to help raise awareness about cancer prevention and how the disease can be detected early. The initiative began during the MEAC tournament last March with a fundraiser in which schools competed with one another to see who could raise the most money to support ACS’s mission.
In her comments, ACS chief development and marketing officer Sharon Byers expressed excitement at the chance to work with the MEAC in their mission to fight cancer. She also touted the organization’s efforts to partner with various other sports entities to raise awareness about cancer and provide practical ways to join in the fight.
